How can I create a list?
I used to have lists in the old Encore and Legacy catalogs, where can I find those now?
Answer
NYPL is in the process of shifting catalog systems to the new Vega catalog (currently https://nypl.na2.iiivega.com/, but soon to be https://browse.nypl.org), so there has been a recent change to how you can add items to lists.
You can now start to add borrowable items to your a list via our new Vega catalog's "Bookmarks" function. Instructions to use bookmarks can be found here:
https://www.nypl.org/get-help/new-catalog/guide#bookmarks
Using the "Bookmarks" function you can compile a list of books you've checked out by going to your list of checked out items, clicking on a title you'd like to add to your list, and then clicking on the "For Later" button. There you'll see the item added to your most recent bookmark list – you can either keep there, move to another existing list, or you can create a new list and add there.
You can review your bookmarks from your account in the Vega catalog, and sort each list by factors including newest, oldest, alphabetic by title, or reverse alphabetic by title.
Keep in mind that any new bookmarks in the Vega catalog will not appear among the older lists you'd kept.
Also note that Vega includes only items that can be borrowed, so any research items that had been on your older lists won't appear among Vega's Bookmarks. However, your older lists will continue to be available by signing into the Legacy Catalog:
https://legacycatalog.nypl.org (use the "Sign In" link on the left side).
