Where can I donate books to NYPL?
I have DVDs, CDs, encyclopedias, magazines, and other material that I'd like to give to the Library.
Answer
Due to limited staff and space, NYPL's ability to accept donated items is limited.
The Library has ongoing book and media sales at the Webster and Saint Agnes locations, and staff there accept donations of gently used books, DVDs, and CDs.
Because staffing and available space to handle donations can vary, we ask that you please reach out to the branch staff for details about what can be donated, and when it can be brought in:
St. Agnes Library ( https://www.nypl.org/locations/st-agnes )
444 Amsterdam Avenue (near @. 81st St.)
New York, NY 10024-5506
(212) 621-0619
Note: The St. Agnes Library cannot not accept computer programming manuals, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or VHS tapes.
Webster Library ( https://www.nypl.org/locations/webster )
1465 York Avenue (near E. 78th St.)
New York, NY 10021-8895
(212) 930-9256
